Three co-founders. One conviction about what UHNW property protection should be.
Cypress is built by operators with two-decade track records in regulated, high-trust markets. Marc, Brian, and Tom came together to build Cypress because each had seen, from different angles, the same structural failure in the UHNW property insurance market -- and each had the experience required to address a different part of it.
Marc is a builder first. Over twenty-five years as an entrepreneur and operator, he has built and sold nine companies across insurance technology, payments, software, and business process outsourcing, with liquidity events ranging from six- to nine-figure outcomes. The same operator discipline that produced those exits is what he brings to Cypress.
His most consequential build was WorkCompEDI, which became the largest electronic data interchange clearinghouse in the U.S. Property & Casualty market -- thirty million annual transactions and over twelve billion dollars in workers’ compensation billing. Marc built it as a four-entity integrated platform (clearinghouse, BPO, payments, custom software engineering) that worked together to dominate a fragmented, legacy market. He served as its Executive Chairman. The WorkCompEDI playbook -- finding a structural inefficiency in a traditional industry and building the integrated platform that displaces it -- is the same playbook Cypress is executing in UHNW property risk.
Marc currently serves as Advisory Board Member to BSC Capital Partners Fund II and Kirkland Capital Partners Fund IV. At Cypress, he leads the firm’s structural design, regulatory engagement, and long-term institutional roadmap.
Brian is an entrepreneurial operator with two decades of direct experience in the ultra-high-net-worth property and casualty insurance market. The relationships he has built over those decades, rooted in direct interaction and value-driven solutions rather than transactional sales, are the foundation of the Cypress member base.
He leads member acquisition, onboarding, and ongoing servicing for the program -- the entire arc of a member’s experience from first conversation through long-term retention. His broker and family office network supports continued cohort expansion over time.
Brian also holds a direct relationship with Munich Re, providing Cypress with senior reinsurance industry access that few firms of its size can claim.
Tom brings thirty years of experience as an art and high-value asset lawyer trained at NYU Law. He is the founding partner of Danziger Art Consulting LLC and has been ranked by Artnet among the world’s leading art lawyers.
His career has focused on the legal architecture that protects significant private wealth -- partnership and entity structures, multi-jurisdictional regulatory navigation, and the contractual frameworks required when high-value assets cross professional, family, and institutional boundaries.
At Cypress, Tom is the legal architect across the firm’s partnership agreements, the program’s member documentation, and the regulatory pathway for the broader Cypress structure. His experience serving the same UHNW demographic that Cypress targets brings a continuity of trust that the program could not otherwise establish.
For families who would like to speak with our leadership directly, we welcome a private conversation.
